IN THE HEART OF OKLAHOMA, HISTORIC GUTHRIE IS HOME TO

Bar F Longhorns

Jim Freeman began raising registered longhorn cattle 40 years ago. Being raised in farming and the family heavy equipment business, commercial cattle had been his background until he bought his first longhorn steer, Blackjack, from the Wichita Wildlife Refuge Sale. Before long, he bought some longhorn cows and borrowed a bull from his uncle and started his herd of longhorn cattle.

Through the years, the foundation breeding has continued. Standing in our pastures you will find four, five and six generations in production. Each generation improving upon the traits we all love in the Longhorn breed – a breed that boasts productive and protective mothers, hardy and self-sufficient bulls, low birth weights, animals that have long and profitable lives, disease resistant, offer diverse marketing options, lean beef for the table along with bringing history to life and providing daily enjoyment.

Longhorns become a way of life. We are fortunate to have them surrounding our home overlooking the rolling hills of Oklahoma and we invite everyone to come to visit. We would love to show you our herd and visit with you about yours.
